MSc Performance Analyst (Academy) Funded Placement

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic & highly motivated MSc candidate within the Academy Coaching Department at Norwich City FC, more specifically embedded in the Academy Analysis Team.

Alongside your studies in the MSc Applied Sports Performance Analysis degree at the University of Worcester, the successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be supporting the delivery of performance analysis services throughout the clubs academy, whilst undertaking research to promote the continued development of working practices.

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead on academy match days > providing instant feedback/review, predominantly within the U15 + 16 age groups.
  • Assist in databasing & collating clips for best practice/ cycle themes/ individual development plans.
  • Film & oversee training (Drone / IP Cameras) to support training week themes & day release programme.
  • Lead data collection with relevant age groups & collaborate with the data insights team > supporting the clubs ongoing data philosophy.
  • Demonstrate creativity in fun, engaging projects that support individual / team development.
  • Be willing to expand previous research centred around exploring the use of telestration within an academy setting.
    Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet the football club’s changing priorities.

Essential

  • In the process of applying to study a MSc in Applied Sports Performance Analysis at the University of Worcester.
  • Undergraduate Degree in a Performance Analysis related area
  • Level 1 in Coaching Football
  • Minimum of one years’ experience delivering performance analysis in elite sport
  • Proficient handler in Microsoft & Mac packages
  • A good base of knowledge within football, specifically technical & tactical
  • Exposure to industry-leading match analysis software (Hudl Pro Suite / SBG products)

 

Desirable

  • UEFA-C Coaching License
  • Talent ID Level 1 + 2
  • Further experiences in delivering performance analysis in elite sport
  • Prior understanding of youth learning environments
  • Proficient user of industry-leading match analysis software (Hudl Pro Suite / SBG products)

Applicants must meet the entry requirements for the MSc Sport (Applied Performance Analysis) course at the University of Worcester. The course comprises two intensive weeks in Worcester with the remaining material delivered online. Therefore, you would need to be located close to Norwich City Football Club’s training ground. Due to the distance nature learning of the course and undertaking work in professional sports, the University is not able to provide a Tier 4 study visa nor accept students with a Graduate Visa.
