Working within the performance support department, this is one of two key positions responsible for providing data analytic support to the performance analysis, sports science and medical teams. This will include the delivery, analysis and visualisation of performance data insights and data-driven tactical analysis. The role also forms part of a larger group, linking closely with the Sport Republic data science team. The role holder is expected to collaborate with both technical and non-technical individuals alike in order to achieve high performance support and outcomes.

 

What will you be doing?

 

The following duties will be shared across two roles:

 

Sports Science & Medicine Support

 

You will be responsible for creating/maintaining an aligned reporting system for fitness testing data and merging information from various data sources to create holistic player performance dashboards. The management and reporting of internal and external injury data along with analysis of historical data will be essential to create insights to aid injury prevention. You will also be developing our data collection process and management of player screening information whilst supporting in the analysis of physical data from optical tracking and GPS.

 

Performance Analysis Support

 

You will perform advanced modelling of team performance data, work closely with analysts to monitor team performance and create tactical insights along with developing an academy reporting framework. You will support the First Team and B Team with opposition analysis through statistical insights and support with individual player development plans with objective data.

 

There will also be development opportunities to get involved with other work on other data science projects within the football department.

 

Person Specification:

To have knowledge of statistical computing languages (R/Python), statistical methods and advanced numeric skills.
To have experience of visualising data and building dashboards, applying data analysis in a business/organisation along with a strong knowledge of data science.
To have experience of working in sport.
