JOB TITLE: Student Placement MSc Performance Analyst                                  

PLACEMENT SUPERVISOR: Lead Academy Analyst/ Women’s First Team Analyst

LOCATION: Rangers Training Centre, Glasgow    

PLACEMENT TERM: 12 months – Start date Summer 2025

THE PLACEMENT:

With the start of the 25/26 season approaching, we have an opportunity for an aspiring performance analyst to join the club. In collaboration with Cardiff Metropolitan University, the successful candidate will support the work of the full-time analysts in the club’s academy and women’s first team. As a department, we pride ourselves on providing our MSc students with valuable opportunities to drive their own work and develop as an analyst and as a person.

Working in the Professional Development Phase and Women’s First Team will provide the successful candidates with opportunities to learn from experienced full-time members of staff and work with elite players at the highest level of Scottish football. Working in the Youth Development Phase will give opportunities to lead creative analysis sessions and have real responsibilities for their own workload and processes.

There will be opportunities to support the academy recruitment department in their efforts to provide the club with talented players from Scotland and elsewhere, giving the successful candidate a chance to expand their skillset and prepare themselves for different roles come the end of their placement with the club.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will include the following:

·         Under the guidance of the full time analysts and age specific coaching team, play a role in the club’s analysis provision across the Rangers FC Academy and Women’s First Team.

·         Ensure training and fixtures are filmed from a tactical angle to a high level.

·         Manage video and data databasing of individual and team performance.

·         Support the coding processes of the relevant squads.

·         Support the recruitment department with individual clips of target players.

·         Lead on the goalkeeping analysis provision at the club.

·         Collaborate across different departments at the club where required.

·         Provide the Youth Development Phase with engaging and educational analysis content.

·         Bring your own ideas to help the development of our department.

·         Ad-hoc tasks as required by the department.

 

THE CANDIDATE

The candidate attributes include:

·         An essential part of the role is being highly proficient in serval performance analysis software which include:

                   - Sportscode

                   - Hudl

                   - Adobe Creative Suite

                   - Keynote, Pages, Numbers, Microsoft Office

·         Analysis/Football background.

·         An appreciation of the use of data within performance analysis would be an advantage. This should include  the analyst’s ability to both collect and analyse data, applying it within the context of performance and educational insights.

·         Deliver a high standard of work in a pressurised environment with tight deadlines.

·         Excellent organisational skills and ability to see a task through to its conclusion.

·         Ability to self-motivate and prioritise workloads.

·         Be solutions orientated.

·         Team player.

·         Eligibility to work in the UK.
