FAW Performance Analysis – Women & Girls Pathway Placement Scheme (2025/2026)

Squad Contact: Wales U15s and U16s Girls National Teams

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) is offering a unique placement opportunity for students interested in performance analysis. The successful applicant will work closely with the Wales U15s and U16s Girls National Team Squads. Mentorship will be provided by the FAW Performance Analysis Team and the coaches of the Girls National Team Squads.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a coaching team with a strong grasp of performance analysis, integrating this knowledge into coaching and training sessions. An induction, training, and ongoing mentoring will be provided throughout the year.

1-year commitment from July/August 2025 to June 2026, with potential continuation for a second year.

Skills Acquired

The placement aims to equip student analysts with the following skills:

  • Understanding the FAW philosophy – The Welsh Way
  • Communicating and collaborating with coaches
  • Opposition analysis
  • Camerawork during training and matches
  • Real-time capturing, coding, and exporting
  • Working under pressure and to deadlines
  • Creating presentations using Keynote/PPT
  • Presenting findings to staff and coaches
  • Use of bespoke analysis software (Angles, Nodiant Coder, Focus, RT Tactic)
  • Use of the Nodiant online platform

Location

Training will take place regularly either in person or via video calls. In-person training and camps may take place at:

  • Colliers Park (North Wales)
  • Dragon Park (South Wales)
  • Hensol Park (South Wales)
  • USW (South Wales)
  • Abroad (subject to camp details)

Time Commitment

All camp dates must be attended. Additional work before and after each camp is required.

Dates may change, but the current schedule includes:

Camp & Match Dates

  • Induction: July 2025
  • 20th–23rd August 2025 – WU15s Training Camp
  • 26th–29th August 2025 – WU16s Training Camp
  • 15th–21st September 2025 – WU16s Fixture Camp
  • October/November 2025 – WU16s Training Camp (TBC)
  • 8th–10th December 2025 – WU15s Training Camp
  • 19th–22nd January 2026 – WU16s Training Camp
  • 2nd–4th February 2026 – WU15s Training Camp
  • April 2026 – WU16s UEFA Development Tournament (TBC)
  • 20th–29th May 2026 – WU15s Fixture Camp

Potential support for the Wales Women’s Senior Team Analysts with match filming (Dates TBC)

Remuneration

  • All camp days are paid
  • Meals, accommodation, travel expenses, and kit are provided while on camp
