Role: Performance Analysis Placement

Report to: Head of Performance Analysis

Location: Moulton College Training Base (NN3 7SX) & Sixfields Stadium (NN5 5QA)

Hours: Flexible hours – willing to attend games and training session. To be discussed during the interview process.

Northampton Town Football Club is looking for proactive and motivated individuals to join our performance analysis department on a voluntary basis for the of the 2025/26 season. The successful candidates will preferably be looking for a future career in professional football and be keen to get involved in differing day-to-day tasks, assisting the performance analysis department with the filming of fixtures and training throughout the club, and helping deliver high-quality analysis to all teams.

What will you be doing?

Due to multiple roles being available, the work load will be spread across the team, with specific tasks differing week-by-week. Below are some example of what you could be doing throughout the season.

• Working closely with club staff to facilitate and support the delivery of analysis within the club.

• Filming and distribution of match and training footage to coaches and players.

• Using analysis software to code, clip and produce reports and presentations for coaches and players on upcoming opposition.

• Using analysis software to code, clip and produce reports and presentations for coaches and players to review as part of the coaching process, in line with the club’s philosophy and syllabus.

• Assisting with/leading analysis sessions with younger age groups in line with the academy syllabus.

• Filming coaching sessions & gathering data to assist the Head of Coaching with coach analysis and development.

• Communicating with staff, players, parents and external parties when required.

• Assisting with any additional duties if/when required.

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience using basic filming equipment (camera, tripod & drone) (D)

• Show good levels of IT literacy, with the use of Macbook’s iMovie, Keynote, Microsoft Word & Excel (E)

• Demonstrate good technical and tactical knowledge of football (E)

• Previous experience using/knowledge of analysis software (Hudl Sportscode) (D)

• Good inter-personal skills that aid effective delivery of analysis and build connections between players and staff (E)

• Willing to commit to unsociable hours (weekends and evenings) (E)

• Strong work ethic and dedication to the role, reliability and trustworthiness (E)

• Proactive and enthusiastic to contribute in ways that will improve the department (E)

• Good organisational skills to balance other commitments/studies with placement to meet deadlines, coupled with a strong desire to continually learn and develop (E)

• Have access to your own/reliable transport to our sites at Moulton and Sixfields (E)
