First Team Performance Analyst Studentship Forest Green Rovers FC in partnership with Hartpury University are offering a fully-funded 1-year work placement alongside studying towards an MSc. in Applied Performance Analysis in Sport. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine studying a postgraduate degree at one of the top Universities in the country whilst also gaining real world experience in an elite football environment.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the performance analysis provision during the 2023/24 season. The primary working location will be at the clubs training ground (Stanley Park Sports Ground, Chippenham), with the requirement of travelling to all home & away games (where required). This position will require the candidate to work irregular hours, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays depending on the fixture schedule.

The Placement

• Support in the live, pre- and post-match analysis process, specifically set pieces, individuals & unit, and training.
• Opportunity to conduct a research project within the First Team to support both your studies and the club.
• Assist and contribute to the implementation of individual development plans from an analysis perspective.
• Create and maintain numerous video databases.
• Assist in the creation and delivery of team, unit and individual analysis meetings.

Person Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience.

Essential

• A 2.1 undergraduate degree in related field (although this is open to discussion based on experience)
• A positive work ethic with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Comfortable working within a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-moving environment.
• Trustworthy, reliable and the ability to work independently.
• Contribute to the development of performance analysis within the club through new ideas and suggestions.
• Be able to commit to the full 2023/24 season.

Preferred

• Experience of being around and / or working in an elite sporting environment.
• Experience using performance analysis software and hardware. (Hudl Sportscode, Studio, Wyscout)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Mac products.
