MSc Placement - Academy Performance Analysis
An opportunity has arisen within the Academy at Barnsley Football Club, that is being offered alongside enrolment at the University of Worcester on their MSc in Applied Sports Performance Analysis course. The ideal candidate will be committed and hard-working, with a wealth of enthusiasm and knowledge alongside effective communication and interpersonal skills.
The position requires a minimum 28 hours per week commitment working within the club’s Category 2 Academy beginning in August 2024. The successful candidate will receive a bursary to cover 100% tuition fees for the course.
The MSc course is delivered via blended learning and as such, you are not required to be based in Worcester for your studies outside of the two intensive weeks. Due to the distance learning nature of the course, only UK, Irish and EU citizens with settled status may apply for this funded placement opportunity. Learning opportunities
- Assist the Lead Academy Analyst to meet the objectives of the Performance Analysis programme
- Support Analysis processes for the U9-23 age groups:
- Filming Training
- Live Feedback (Match Analysis)
- Creation of pre-match opposition / post-match analysis
- Analyse, review and evaluate fixtures to produce statistical data as detailed in the Academy Performance Plan.
- Manage the creation and development of an individual player/team philosophy clip library
- Assist the department with ad-hoc requests when required.
Essential
- A minimum 2:1 degree in a sports-related subject
- Minimum 1-year prior experience in the provision of performance analysis support
- Knowledge of the technical and tactical aspects of professional football
- Understanding of industry standard performance analysis software such as Hudl Sportscode, Statsbomb, & Wyscout
- Eligible for the MSc Sport (Applied Performance Analysis) course at the University of Worcester
Personal Requirements:
- A full clean driving licence
- Completion of FA Coaching qualifications
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- The ability to work independently to strict deadlines in high pressure environments
